A Service Express Holiday Tradition

by | Nov 26, 2019 | Culture, Leadership, Video

It is a Service Express tradition to put up the Christmas tree the day before Thanksgiving, it’s something we’ve been doing for years. Previously, when we were a bit smaller, the responsibility fell on a few select people to do this. In order to help with the task, we proposed a tree decorating party. Now every Wednesday afternoon before we all go home to spend Thanksgiving with our families, Service Expresser’s get together for food, drinks, holiday music and tree decorating. The kicker to this party is that once the tree is decorated, everyone can go home and get an early start on Thanksgiving and the holiday weekend.

As we approach Thanksgiving this week, we have the same tradition — we slow down a little bit, we celebrate together, we have a lot of fun and it’s a great way to kick off the holiday season. On the flip side after Christmas and as we get ready for the new year, we gather to take down the tree and release a little early for New Year’s Eve. These types of events are great for you as leaders to advocate for your employees and to get into the holiday spirit.

I am so thankful to be able to do these things with our teams here and throughout all our offices across the country. I’m thankful for friends, family, our health and all of you that I’m connected with outside of Service Express. There is so much to be thankful for this holiday season. I encourage you to take this time to reset, recharge and come back strong at the beginning of the year. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
