Relentless, Positive Action (RPA) is a term I heard from a good friend of mine, McKeel Hagerty, the CEO of Hagerty Insurance. He got the term from former Michigan Governor Rick Snyder, and it immediately resonated with me when McKeel said it; I loved it. Relentless, positive action is the way to go through life: always moving forward, always taking action with a positive attitude.
Key principles in this approach include staying grounded in reality. Jim Collins calls it “confronting the brutal truth.” Relentless, positive action doesn’t mean ignoring challenges, problems or pain. It means accepting and confronting them, taking action, finding solutions, solving problems and moving forward.
To me, this is the only way I’ve found to navigate life, both personally and professionally. As we build Service Express, I embrace this mindset. I’ve been here for almost 27 years, and I love the people I work with. We face challenges every day, but that’s where all the opportunities lie. The way we solve them is through relentless positive action, always moving forward. Give RPA a shot.
