Step Back, Be Thankful

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

It’s time to take a break and remember all the blessings in our lives. I talk a lot about running to problems and how that’s the best way to get ahead in your career. That’s where the breakthroughs and best experiences are, both inside and outside of work. While I’m still a heavy proponent of running to the problems, it’s also important to step back and focus on our blessings. Sometimes we’re so consumed by problem-solving that we forget about all our blessings.

This week we kicked off our Executive Team huddle by talking about things we’re thankful for and our thanksgiving traditions. It took almost half an hour to go through the whole team, and it was the most powerful 30 minutes we’ve had together in a long time. It was positive, emotional in some respects, and a great reminder of all our blessings. There have been many challenges in the last 18 months, but we still need to find the things we are thankful for.

I hope you all take time this Thanksgiving and throughout this holiday season as you go into 2022 to take time to remember all your blessings. If you do this regularly, you’ll see how much it lifts your spirits. You’ll be in a better mood, energized and ready to tackle the challenges you face.

Have a great long weekend and a fantastic finish to the year. I’m thankful for all of you who listen to my blogs weekly. I sometimes wonder who listens and what they get out of it, but I appreciate it when people across the country remind me. When people make comments or talk to me about my blog, it empowers me.

I look forward to a great 2022 with all of you. Take care!
