Jumpstart Your Workplace Culture: I highly recommend this book by Eric D. Stone.
Eric is deeply committed to enhancing workplace culture and is a strong advocate for it. He recently shared on LinkedIn his reasons for writing the book, saying he aims to challenge the common misconceptions about workplace culture.
Many people see workplace culture as soft and philosophical, and they think it’s all about hugs, high fives, and leisure time. That couldn’t be further from the truth.
A strong culture is built on clear expectations, exemplary training, consistent follow-up, accountability and trust. It isn’t soft; it’s the catalyst for high performance. It’s what separates thriving organizations from the rest.
Eric says, “Culture doesn’t just eat strategy for breakfast—it devours it for lunch and dinner, too.” I couldn’t agree with him more, which is why I connected so well with him and why I highly recommend his book.
Culture is not about making everyone happy, hanging out together and having parties without achieving anything. It’s about training, accountability, trust, performance, working together, delivering and keeping your word—all of which drive growth and performance.
