It’s OK to be Vulnerable as a Leader

Lionel Messi, famed soccer player, once said “It took me 17 years and 114 days to become an overnight success.”

Success often looks like a straight arrow that goes up and to the right (often on a revenue growth chart). Most who experience success (companies and individuals) have an arrow with a path that dips, twists and turns. And it’s important for leaders to acknowledge those low points and share the stories of the challenges they have faced. It’s that vulnerability that people relate to, and it can give your team the confidence that they can prevail during trying times and come out on top.
