How can I help? Four little words with one big meaning.
Recently, we had the author and speaker John U. Bacon visit Service Express to share his leadership expertise. One of the first things he noticed walking into one of our buildings was a big sign with the words, “How can I help?”
Helping is part of our culture and DNA at Service Express. Yes, we’re a service-oriented company, but we take that to its truest meaning. We’re always looking to serve others: our customers, partners, vendors and each other. This value has made us who we are and gotten us to where we are today.
Too often, people look for what they can get out of a situation. It’s not always about you, don’t look for what you can get. Instead, look for what you can give. Zig Ziglar said it perfectly, “You can get everything you want out of life if you just help enough other people get what they want.”
I encourage you to put this advice to use. To me, helping is one of life’s greatest hacks or unlocks. Don’t look for what you can get; look for what you can give. See how you can help others, help as many people as possible, and look at what life opens up for you. Also, watch how good it makes you feel!
