You Don’t Need a Blueprint

Growing organizations in an ever-changing world don’t have a blueprint for everything.  Last March, we sent everyone home to work remotely for what we thought would be a few weeks. This has been different from anything I’ve been through here at Service Express.  
There is no playbook for what we are going through in the world today. We must take what we have learned from past experiences and apply them to the current situation. Over my 20+ years at Service Express, we’ve had to figure things out as we go along. For me, that is where the fun is and I’m comfortable not having the answers. Does it mean I don’t get stressed? No. Does it mean that I never wake up in the middle of the night? No. It sounds crazy, but I believe tackling challenges head-on is the fun part.  
We look for leaders and frontline employees who are comfortable not working with all the answers and changing the way we do things over time for our company. What we used in the past may not work today! We need people who are agile and get energized by updating the way we do business and makes changes to improve. I encourage you always to be intentional and selective about who you’re bringing on to your company to ensure the right match. In an ever-changing world, sometimes you need to figure it out as you evolve.
