“Where your focus goes, your energy flows.” I heard this in a golf video on Instagram. Who knew how many connections there are between golf, life and growing a business?
Golf is a mental game, along with life and growing a business. I love the saying, “Where your focus goes, your energy flows.” This is true at work; when we focus and put our energy into something, we see results. But when we’re scattered, our results are scattered.
At Service Express, we use a tool called 5/15s. Everyone in the company, including myself, updates it at the beginning of each quarter. Then, we review it with our leaders to show our priorities for the next 90 days. In essence, this is where we’re putting our energy for the next 90 days. Our team members align with their leaders, and leaders align with their teams. Doing so keeps us focused, aligned, and ready to tackle our goals. It’s how we stay together and keep growing the company, one quarter at a time.
I also apply this to my personal life. When I look at my busy schedule, I ask myself, “Is my energy scattered, or is it focused?”
