Think Inside the Box

Think inside the box. This is a phrase I recently heard from our Chief Marketing Officer, Callan Young, and I loved it. 

We always hear about thinking outside the box, being creative, looking ahead and finding new ways to achieve our goals. And that’s great; there’s absolutely a time and place for that kind of thinking. But when Callan shared this phrase with us at our Leadership Summit, it really stuck with me. 

There are times when it’s not about being creative or reinventing the wheel. Instead, it’s about focusing on the fundamentals, the basics and the plan that’s already in place. It’s about executing with discipline and precision. 

The fourth quarter is a perfect example. Yes, many of us are already thinking about 2026 (and hopefully even beyond that), but right now, it’s just as important to focus on how we finish this year as strongly as possible. 

To do that, sometimes we need to tune out the outside noise, block the distractions and zero in on what’s right in front of us. 

So take a moment to ask yourself, “Should I be thinking outside the box right now? Or is it time to think inside the box and execute the plan that’s already there?”
