I’ve always been an advocate for setting deadlines to communicate priorities and a create sense of urgency. To avoid confusion and frustration, always set a deadline and agree upon it with the members on your team — this reinforces that the deadline is set and that negotiations are out of the way. Through my career, I’ve discovered when there aren’t deadlines projects will move much slower. When there’s a set deadline, it creates a call to action that holds everyone accountable and helps keep things moving!
